Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais on Friday prorogued the state assembly, marking the end of the monsoon session. This session was the last before the anticipated state elections likely to be held in September-October.

The current tenure of the 14th legislative assembly is scheduled to conclude on November 26.

The prorogation order was announced by Speaker Rahul Narwekar.

The session commenced on June 27, during which the additional budget was presented in the House by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who also manages the finance portfolio, on June 28.
