INDIA bloc parties emerged victorious in four assembly seats, leading in six, while the BJP clinched one and was ahead in another, according to Election Commission trends as the by-election votes were counted on Saturday. Voting was conducted across 13 assembly seats earlier this week in states including Punjab and Tamil Nadu.
The Congress, TMC, AAP, and DMK were among the INDIA bloc parties fielding candidates. In Punjab, AAP's Mohinder Bhagat triumphed in Jalandhar West, defeating BJP's Sheetal Angural by 37,325 votes. Meanwhile, DMK's Siva led by 58,785 votes in Tamil Nadu's Vikravandi seat.
Victories were also secured by TMC across several West Bengal seats, Congress in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while the BJP made gains in Himachal and remained competitive in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. This diverse outcome highlights the fragmented political landscape in India.
