The US Secret Service swiftly responded by shooting dead the suspected attacker. Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung confirmed that Trump is safe and receiving medical attention. Blood was visible on Trump's face as he reached his neck, with media reports indicating multiple gunshots were heard as Trump addressed the crowd.
The Secret Service quickly escorted Trump to safety, with the former President seen pumping his fist in the air as the crowd cheered. “An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, and the former President is safe,” said Secret Service Spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, adding that the matter is under investigation.
A law enforcement source revealed that the shooter was killed and two other casualties were taken to a local hospital. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been briefed on the incident.
