Donald Trump's campaign is bolstering armed security at its sites and advising staff in Washington and West Palm Beach to stay away from the office on Sunday, according to a memo reported by Politico. This follows an incident where the former president was shot and lightly wounded at a rally.

The memo also instructed campaign staff not to comment publicly on the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania. 'We urge you to recognize the political polarization in this heated election,' the memo stated. Trump's campaign reassured that he, with a minor wound on his ear, was in 'great spirits.'

ABC News reported on Sunday morning that security plans for the Republican National Convention, starting in Milwaukee on Monday, will undergo reevaluation in light of the Trump shooting incident.
