Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Haryana's Mahendragarh on Tuesday to address a meeting centered on the backward classes.

This will be Shah's second visit to the state in just over two weeks, as Haryana prepares for the upcoming polls later this year. Haryana BJP Chief Mohan Lal Badoli announced the event on social media platform X.

The gathering, part of what is described as the 'Backward Classes Samman Sammelan,' will take place in Mahendragarh's Pali. Over the past decade, the BJP has enjoyed considerable electoral success in the Ahirwal belt of south Haryana. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, while Congress captured five of ten seats, the BJP held onto Bhiwani-Mahendragarh and Gurugram parliamentary constituencies.

Last month, Shah attended a meeting of the BJP's extended state executive in Panchkula, where he reiterated that the BJP would contest the upcoming assembly elections independently under Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's leadership.

In a related event, Chief Minister Saini addressed an 'OBC Morcha Sarv Samaj Samrasta Sammelan' in Gurugram, where he announced an increase in the annual income limit for the creamy layer from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, stating that this move would provide significant employment benefits to the OBC category.
