Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari attributed the party's poor performance in West Bengal's Lok Sabha polls to insufficient support from the minority community. Adhikari dismissed the BJP’s 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' approach, instead advocating for 'Hum unke saath jo humare saath' (we are with those who are with us).

Addressing the extended session of BJP's state executive committee, Adhikari rejected the need for a Minority Morcha within the party, stating, 'We all used to say 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas', but I think it should be 'Hum unke saath jo humare saath'.'

Adhikari alleged that 'Jihadi goons' from TMC restricted Hindus from voting in many areas during the Lok Sabha polls, leading to unfair elections. He called for the implementation of the Disturbed Areas Act to ensure free and fair elections in West Bengal. His comments come after BJP lost three assembly seats to TMC in the recent bypolls, adding to their disappointing performance in the parliamentary elections.

TMC leader Kunal Ghosh responded by accusing BJP of making excuses to placate their cadre after the Lok Sabha debacle in the state.
