Kremlin Reflects on Trump Era: Dialogue Amid Strain
The Kremlin stated that Donald Trump's presidency from 2017 to 2021 brought no benefits to Russia, though it did maintain dialogue between Moscow and Washington. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov acknowledged the increase in restrictions on Russia during Trump's term but noted the continuity of communication as a positive aspect.
The Kremlin declared on Wednesday that Donald Trump's presidency from 2017 to 2021 produced no favorable outcomes for Russia. Nevertheless, the period was characterized by continuous dialogue between Moscow and Washington.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov shared these views during a conference call with reporters. He addressed Trump's previous comments on his relationship with President Vladimir Putin. 'As for getting along or not getting along, under Trump, nothing good was done for Russia,' Peskov stated.
'On the contrary, more restrictions were imposed on Russia. However, the dialogue persisted, which might be seen as a positive element.' Peskov also noted that Russia and Putin are recurring themes in U.S. election campaigns.
