YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to visit the family of a party worker who was murdered in Vinukonda, expressing solidarity with the bereaved. The police identified the victim as Rashid and the accused as Sheik Jilani, stating the murder stemmed from personal enmity rather than political motives.

The incident occurred at Mundlamuru bus station and has since sparked a series of allegations between YSRCP and TDP. Reddy, cutting short a Bengaluru visit, returned to respond to the situation and claimed that the region is plagued by a 'demonic reign' under the current government. He accused the TDP of turning Andhra Pradesh into a crime den.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu deferred a scheduled white paper release on law and order, although sources maintain the postponement is unrelated to the murder. Police have reinforced that the killing was purely personal, with Palnadu's Superintendent of Police, K Srinivas Rao, confirming the arrest of the accused and imposition of prohibitory orders in Vinukonda.
