On Monday, former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik decisively backed BJD leader and his key aide V K Pandian. Patnaik praised Pandian's dedication and efficiency, labeling a recent media report suggesting internal party splits as 'completely false, motivated, defamatory and malicious.'
The report alleged that Patnaik had asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah 'not to entertain' Pandian, a claim Patnaik strongly refuted on social media.
The BJP also denied any claims from the report that Patnaik had assured support for the NDA in the Rajya Sabha, with BJP Vice President Biranchi Narayan Tripathy stating that the saffron party does not require BJD’s assistance as it has majorities both in the state and at the Centre.
