Andhra Pradesh Delays Budget Presentation Amid Financial Constraints
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state government will delay the budget presentation by two months due to financial constraints. Following his speech at the Assembly, he thanked the Centre for Union Budget allocations and promised infrastructural improvements. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced in the Assembly on Tuesday that the state government will delay the presentation of the budget by two months due to financial constraints.
During the second meeting of the first session of the Assembly since the TDP-led government formation, Naidu disclosed the decision regarding the state budget.
'Because of financial constraints we are not able to table the budget now. We came to a decision to table it after two months,' stated Naidu.
He also expressed gratitude to the Centre for assuring in the Union Budget 2024-25 to expedite the completion of the Polavaram Project.
Commenting on the Rs 15,000 crore allocation for the capital city construction, Naidu claimed that good days have returned to Amravati, a project he has ardently supported for a decade.
The CM assured that roads across the state would be repaired and that the remaining three white papers on excise, law and order, and state finance would be released starting Wednesday.
Following Naidu's address, Speaker C Ayyannapatrudu adjourned the House till Wednesday.
In a separate development, opposition leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy traveled to New Delhi on Tuesday to protest against alleged attacks on YSRCP cadres by the ruling government and the deteriorating law and order situation.
The protest is set for Wednesday, supported by a photo exhibition depicting the alleged atrocities.
