Secret Service Leadership Shifts After Trump Assassination Attempt

The acting director of the U.S. Secret Service, Ronald L. Rowe, Jr., will testify before three Senate committees on Tuesday in response to the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, as announced by the committees on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is set to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee in a joint hearing with the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Kimberly Cheatle resigned from her role as director of the U.S. Secret Service on Tuesday, following bipartisan criticism over the failure to prevent the attempt on Trump's life. Ronald L. Rowe, Jr. has been appointed as the acting director in her place.
