India-ASEAN Relations at the Forefront of Act East Policy, Says Jaishankar
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized the importance of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in India's Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision. During the ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers Meeting in Laos, Jaishankar highlighted political, economic, and security cooperation and celebrated a decade of the Act East Policy.

Jaishankar attended the ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers Meeting in Vientiane, Laos, where he emphasized that ASEAN is India's cornerstone for regional engagement. He commended the ever-expanding dimensions of the India-ASEAN partnership.
Marking a decade of the 'Act East Policy,' launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jaishankar reiterated India’s commitment to a free, open, inclusive, peaceful, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. He also met with several counterparts and discussed a wide array of bilateral and regional issues, including digital, defense, maritime security, and cultural heritage preservation.
