Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy was discharged from the hospital on Sunday, confirmed his office. Kumaraswamy was rushed to the hospital after experiencing a sudden nosebleed while attending a press conference in Bengaluru.
During the press conference, Kumaraswamy was seen attempting to staunch the bleeding with a cloth, his shirt visibly soaked in blood. The incident occurred during a meeting with BJP-JDS leaders, including state BJP President BY Vijayendra and the state's Leader of Opposition R Ashoka, regarding corruption in Karnataka.
Post-meeting, Vijayendra revealed discussions on alleged corruption under CM Siddaramaiah's leadership, highlighting scandals including the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam and welfare fund misappropriations in the ST Development Corporation scam. He announced a 'Padyatra' from August 3-10, with participation from both party leaders and national BJP figures, to protest against these issues.
The 'Padyatra,' a seven-day march, aims to pressure the government into addressing these allegations. Vijayendra stressed that they would proceed with the march despite any governmental attempts to hinder it, supported by statements from Karnataka LoP R Ashoka, who accused the Congress government of large-scale corruption affecting the scheduled tribe community.
