Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani banned Congress leader Shanti Dhariwal from participating in House proceedings for the next two days after Dhariwal offered an apology for his use of unparliamentary language last week.

Dhariwal had threatened BJP's Sandeep Sharma, an MLA from Kota South, with banishment from Kota while using cuss words during House proceedings on Friday. Devnani, in his Tuesday ruling, noted that Dhariwal did not deserve to be a member of the House for the next four years but opted for leniency due to the apology.

Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully and Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra also apologized on Dhariwal's behalf, acknowledging the words were inappropriate and not intended to disrupt proceedings. Notably, Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg criticized Dhariwal's behavior as indicative of his falling standards.
