In a startling political accusation, NCP (SP) leader Vidya Chavan asserted on Tuesday that her daughter-in-law had been manipulated by Maharashtra BJP vice-president Chitra Wagh into levying false domestic violence charges against her family.
Chavan, a former state legislator, disclosed audio recordings purportedly capturing conversations between her daughter-in-law Gauri and Wagh. She contends these interactions were an attempt to malign NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar as well.
Chavan emphasized that multiple courts have dismissed any domestic violence allegations against her family, alleging that Wagh’s actions are politically driven. In her defense, Wagh insists her assistance to Gauri was purely humanitarian and not influenced by political rivalry.
