Austria's conservative-led coalition government has nominated Finance Minister Magnus Brunner as its next European Commissioner, Chancellor Karl Nehammer announced on social media platform X on Wednesday.

Brunner will take over from Johannes Hahn, who currently oversees the European Union's budget and administration.
