Political strategist turned activist Prashant Kishor charged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his former mentor, with failing to secure tangible benefits for the state despite the BJP's dependence on him to retain power at the Centre.
Kishor alleged the JD(U) leader was more focused on his party's share in the Union council of ministers rather than leveraging his position to revive Bihar's industry. 'People are talking about special status for Bihar. Why couldn't Nitish Kumar press for the restoration of 20 sugar mills that have been moribund for years?' the IPAC founder questioned.
Speaking after a function of the 'Jan Suraaj' campaign, which is set to become a political party on October 2, Kishor lambasted Kumar's focus on ministerial berths post-2024 Lok Sabha polls. He asserted that 'Jan Suraaj' will contest the upcoming Bihar assembly polls without allies, with the support of one crore people.
