Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange has indicated plans to potentially field candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections, expected in October.

Talking to media on Sunday, Jarange revealed that community leaders will convene on August 29 to finalize candidate decisions for the 288-member assembly. He stressed the move arises out of necessity if the state government fails to meet the community's reservation demands.

Jarange emphasized the need for the community to receive Kunbi certificates for OBC reservation, while also commenting on political figures like Narayan Rane and Raj Thackeray. In contrast, other community leaders and political figures expressed differing views on the Maratha quota issue, reflecting its ongoing influence on state politics.
