U.S. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump announced on Thursday his willingness to debate Democratic rival Kamala Harris three times in September on different networks, aiming to regain the momentum from her energized campaign. ABC News revealed on X that it would host a presidential debate on Sept. 10, with both candidates agreeing to participate.

In a press conference at his Palm Beach residence in Florida, Trump proposed debates on Sept. 4, Sept. 10, and Sept. 25, hosted by Fox, ABC, and NBC, respectively. However, his campaign later clarified that he had confused the hosting networks. Specific terms, such as audience presence, were not detailed, and it was unclear whether Trump's campaign had formally proposed the additional dates to Harris' team. The Harris campaign has not yet commented.

This was Trump's first public appearance since Harris announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate on Tuesday. Harris and Walz have been rallying in battleground states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, drawing large crowds and re-energizing Democrat support. Harris' surge has forced Trump's team to revise their strategy, as recent polls show her overtaking Trump's lead. Gleichzeitig, Democrats have raised hundreds of millions of dollars in donations. President Joe Biden dropped his reelection bid after a poor debate performance against Trump.

Trump also mocked Harris' crowd sizes, insisting that Republican enthusiasm remains strong. "We have the enthusiasm," he asserted. "The Republican Party has the enthusiasm."
