Trump's Transition Team: Key Donors to Lead Effort for Potential Victory

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced that wrestling magnate Linda McMahon and Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick will lead his transition team as co-chairs. This team is tasked with vetting personnel and drafting policy in preparation for a possible victory in the November election.

Trump's campaign stated that McMahon, the co-founder and former CEO of WWE and chair of the America First Policy Institute, along with Lutnick, who recently hosted a $15-million fundraiser for Trump, will oversee the transition efforts. Trump's sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as his running mate, Senator JD Vance, are named as honorary chairs of the team.

Historically, it is standard for presidential campaigns to prepare a transition team before an election. However, the influence of Trump's current team remains uncertain, especially considering his past decision to dismiss much of his 2016 transition team due to disagreements and dissatisfaction. With Vice President Kamala Harris now leading the Democratic ticket, Trump's focus remains firmly on campaigning amidst tightening polls.
