Vice President Kamala Harris is set to meet with members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in a bid to secure their support ahead of the November presidential election, a union spokesperson confirmed on Saturday.
Harris, currently in a closely contested race against Republican rival Donald Trump, will engage in a roundtable discussion with Teamsters to address workers' concerns, according to spokesperson Kara Deniz. The date of the meeting is yet to be confirmed.
While Harris recently secured the endorsement of the United Auto Workers, the larger Teamsters union, representing over 1 million workers in various sectors including transport and logistics, remains undecided. Polls indicate Trump holds an edge among blue-collar voters, including many white Teamsters. The union may opt to endorse no candidate, as reported by Reuters in July.
