Anil Vij Criticizes Vinesh Phogat's Move to Congress

Senior BJP leader Anil Vij criticized Vinesh Phogat's decision to join the Congress, asking rhetorically what objection they could have if she wanted to switch from 'desh ki beti' to 'Congress ki beti'. Phogat and wrestler Bajrang Punia joined the Congress ahead of Haryana Assembly polls, with support from Congress MP Deepender Hooda.

Senior Haryana BJP leader Anil Vij on Friday scrutinized wrestler Vinesh Phogat's affiliation with the Congress, notably switching from 'desh ki beti' to 'Congress ki beti'.

Phogat and fellow wrestler Bajrang Punia joined the Congress ahead of the Haryana Assembly polls, meeting top leaders like Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

The move was speculated to have ties with the wrestlers' previous protests against former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations.
