BJP Yuva Morcha Protests Over Kolkata Rape Case
The BJP Yuva Morcha protested outside the office of Kolkata Police's deputy commissioner, demanding her removal over alleged laxity in the R G Kar rape and murder case. Led by Tapas Roy, workers demanded the resignations of DC Central Indira Mukherjee and Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal.

The BJP Yuva Morcha on Thursday staged a protest outside the office of the deputy commissioner of Kolkata Police (central division), demanding her removal over alleged laxity in handling the R G Kar rape and murder case.
Hundreds of BJP youth activists, led by party leader Tapas Roy, marched towards the office of DC Central Indira Mukherjee, calling for her removal. They also demanded the resignation of Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal.
Police set up barricades outside Mukherjee's office on S N Banerjee road to contain the protest. However, BJP workers climbed atop the barricades, shouting slogans against the police. Roy accused the police of acting as cadres of the Trinamool Congress and demanded the immediate resignations of both Mukherjee and Goyal.
