Union Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda addressed the Parivartan Sabha in Khunti on Monday, highlighting the 'parivartan yatra' as a mission to uphold tribal and women's rights and protect against land grabbing.
In his speech, Nadda stated, 'This Parivartan Yatra is a resolve to safeguard the rights of our innocent tribal brothers and protect our mothers and daughters. It is a journey to defend those who are trying to usurp the lands of the tribal brothers and assure you that action will be taken against those who have deceived them.'
Launching the initiative on the 'holy land of Khunti,' Nadda expressed optimism that the yatra would bring change to Jharkhand. He directed sharp criticism at the Hemant Soren-led JMM government, accusing it of restricting 'Adivasi Asmita' to its own family and mistreating tribal leaders within the party.
Nadda further praised PM Modi's efforts to honor tribal history, citing the celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas and the appointment of India's first tribal woman President, Droupadi Murmu.
He accused the JMM-led government of betraying tribal communities and patronizing infiltrators for votes, highlighting the alleged humiliation of senior tribal leader Champai Soren and expressing concerns over the decline in tribal population.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed similar sentiments, urging the public to vote out the current administration. He promised transformative changes for the poor, Dalits, Adivasis, and OBCs if BJP comes to power.
Shah flagged off the 'Parivartan Yatra' in Jharkhand's Sahibganj district, with several other BJP leaders in attendance. Jharkhand is set to go to polls for its legislative assembly later this year as the current government's tenure ends in 2024.
