Jaishankar Strengthens Bilateral Ties at UNGA
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held meetings on the sidelines of the UNGA with counterparts from multiple countries including Spain, Cyprus, and Moldova, discussing regional conflicts and bilateral cooperation. He also met with European Commissioner for Climate Action and counterparts from Guyana and Bolivia to discuss enhancing bilateral relations.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged in multiple bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), strengthening ties with Spain, Cyprus, Moldova, and others. Key discussions included regional issues like the conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine.
Jaishankar, attending the 79th session of the high-level UNGA, will address the General Debate on September 28. In his talks with Spain's Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares Bueno, both sides highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation, especially concerning the Middle East, Ukraine, and Indo-Pacific.
Further, Jaishankar met with Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos and Moldova's Mihai Popșoi to discuss broader regional implications and potential sectors for cooperation. He also interacted with EU Commissioner for Climate Action Wopke Hoekstra and counterparts from Guyana and Bolivia to explore deeper bilateral engagements.
