Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai has launched a veiled attack on the ruling DMK, specifically targeting the elevation of Udhayanidhi Stalin to the position of Deputy Chief Minister. Through a post on 'X', Annamalai pointed out that governance benefits only a select group of privileged individuals.

''The Sun shines for the privileged few & an eclipse for the rest of the state for the last 40 months. People have now understood what the term 'Vidiyal' actually meant: Vidiyal for self, family, and the chieftains,'' Annamalai remarked. He was referring to the DMK's campaign slogan 'Vidiyal,' which means 'dawn,' and was prominently used during the 2021 Assembly elections.

Additionally, Annamalai posted a meme blaming the ruling party for 'rising nepotism.' The meme included photographs of Udhayanidhi and other leaders from significant political families affiliated with the DMK. This criticism is seen as a strong statement against the alleged dynasty politics in the state.
