Congress Rajya Sabha MP Kumari Selja has made clear her ambitions regarding the chief ministerial candidature in Haryana, should the Congress secure a victory. In a substantial assertion, Selja declared that while the ultimate decision lies with the Party High Command, her seniority makes her a formidable candidate for consideration.
In an interview with ANI, she emphasized the importance of her experience and contributions, stating, 'The high command will make the final call, but given my seniority and accomplishments, I believe I am in the running.' Selja also dismissed any notions of being overlooked, affirming her relevance within the political hierarchy.
Addressing speculation about her shifting allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Selja categorically denied such rumors, attributing them to Delhi's rumor mill. She affirmed her loyalty to Congress and expressed confidence in the party's groundwork as Haryana prepares for the October elections. The assembly elections, a pivotal moment for the state, will determine its 90-member legislative assembly.
