The Election Commission has firmly refuted allegations made by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, regarding an alleged slowdown in the updating of Haryana election results. In a strong response, the EC labeled the claims as 'ill-founded' and emphasized the absence of any substantiated evidence to support such accusations.
Responding to a complaint lodged by the Congress earlier in the day, the electoral body detailed that the counting adheres to Rule 60 of the Conduct of Election Rules. It stated that vote counting is being conducted transparently at designated centers in the presence of candidates, observers, and micro-observers.
The Commission highlighted that results from approximately 25 rounds across constituencies are updated every five minutes, negating any alleged delays. The EC's reaction aims to counter and dispel any 'false news and malicious narratives' regarding the election process.
