The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has successfully achieved a consensus on 210 of the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, a move described as a 'significant achievement' by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut. The coalition, which includes the Congress and Sharad Pawar's NCP (SP), aims to defeat the ruling alliance.
Sanjay Raut, a key strategist for the Shiv Sena (UBT), emphasized the significance of the agreement while aiming to contest elections against the forces he claims are 'looting Maharashtra.' Raut dismissed rumors of a possible breakaway by the Uddhav Thackeray-led party to contest all seats independently.
Amid speculation of Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) discord, talks of Union Home Minister Amit Shah allegedly initiating contact with Raut sparked further controversy. The alleged phone conversation hinted at a possible rapprochement with the BJP despite previous rifts. However, Raut firmly denied any such developments, attributing misinformation to BJP fears.
