In a robust New Year's address, Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te has reaffirmed his commitment to bolstering Taiwan's defence capabilities against mounting Chinese threats. Speaking decisively, Lai emphasized Taiwan's crucial position as a safeguard for global democracy, acknowledging the challenges posed by authoritarian regimes.
With China persistently claiming Taiwan as its own and increasing military pressure, Lai highlighted the importance of international collaboration to maintain peace and stability.
