Protests Erupt Over BPSC Exam Irregularities in Patna

The opposition CPI(ML) Liberation, aligned with the INDIA bloc, has alleged substantial irregularities in the recent BPSC exams. The claim has fueled widespread protests in Patna.

A group of CPI(ML) Liberation lawmakers, led by Mehboob Alam, engaged with protesting students at Gardani Bagh, where ongoing demonstrations have persisted for two weeks. The students presented alleged evidence of misconduct in the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission, conducted on December 13. CPI(ML) Liberation state secretary Kunal assured protestors that the party would thoroughly scrutinize the evidence.

The party is rallying against what they perceive as government negligence and is demanding an official response from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The perceived silence of Nitish Kumar has drawn criticism, as the party recalls his roots in the 1974 student movement, accusing him of emulating the BJP's stance on quelling legitimate student grievances.
