In a dramatic turn of events, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant has criticized the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for allegedly omitting dissent notes from the report on the Waqf Amendment Bill. Sawant, speaking to ANI, expressed discontent over the lack of clause-by-clause discussions during committee meetings.

Parliament witnessed chaos as the Waqf report was tabled, with the Lower House adjourned amid vociferous opposition protests. Although Rajya Sabha proceeded despite the uproar, opposition leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge slammed the report, calling it anti-democratic for removing opposition views.

Government representatives, including JP Nadda and Kiren Rijiju, denied allegations of report manipulation, emphasizing adherence to democratic processes. The Waqf Amendment Bill, aimed at addressing longstanding issues in Waqf property management, faces scrutiny and demands for transparency.
