CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat has stressed the importance of unity among secular forces to counter the expanding influence of the BJP. Admitting that the Left party has faced challenges in regaining public support, Karat highlighted the urgency of strengthening the CPI(M) and other Left parties to combat the RSS ideology.

In the recent Lok Sabha polls, the opposition INDIA bloc's unity was pivotal in preventing the BJP from achieving a solo majority, according to Karat. He underscored the necessity for the Left to bolster its presence in West Bengal to challenge both the ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP.

At the four-day CPI(M) party state conference in Dankuni, Hooghly district, Karat noted that Leftist workers have faced numerous challenges in recent years. Despite these obstacles, the CPI(M) continues to organize movements on various issues, aiming to strategize for the 2026 Assembly elections in West Bengal.
