In a significant political move, Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK party sent a two-member delegation to Odisha to engage in talks with Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik concerning the contentious issue of constituency delimitation.
The delegation, composed of DMK leaders TRB Rajaa and Dayanidhi Maran, approached the BJD president at his residence to urge his party's participation in the Joint Action Committee. This committee aims to counter the Central Government's proposal, which advocates constituency redrawing exclusively based on population data.
The DMK is marshaling support from various regional leaders, including those within the NDA, to oppose the proposal. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has called for a collaborative stance, proposing a meeting in Chennai to develop a collective response.
