In a move that has stirred diplomatic waters, US President Donald Trump hosted Pakistan's Army Chief, Asim Munir, at the White House for a luncheon. This meeting, which took place recently, was hailed by Trump for Munir's role in preventing the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan.

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh expressed serious concerns over the event, describing it as a significant blow to Indian diplomacy. Ramesh highlighted that Munir, despite being a military official and not a head of state, had been invited for the prestigious meeting. He emphasized the controversial nature of Munir's past remarks linked to the Pahalgam attack.

Adding to the criticism, Shiv Sena's Priyanka Chaturvedi questioned Trump's intentions over the meeting, suggesting that it underscores the Pakistan Army's control over the nation. She criticized the optics of seeking peace accolades while associating with figures of disputed backgrounds.
