Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi on Friday accused the BJP and its allied groups, such as the RSS, VHP, and Bajrang Dal, of harboring criminal elements who create communal tension before elections to obscure the government's shortcomings.
At a press conference, Gogoi demanded thorough investigations into individuals behind the incidents of placing beef in public areas, including religious sites, to ignite conflict in the state.
He criticized accusations against him for inciting tensions and instead alleged that the BJP seeks to divert attention from its failures, citing the BJP's previous actions in Manipur as a cautionary tale for Assam.
