YS Sharmila, who leads the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, has raised serious concerns over unfulfilled promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. She pointedly questioned the status of commitments such as special category status, which remains unresolved a decade later.

As PM Modi visits Visakhapatnam for International Yoga Day, Sharmila expressed discontent over the perceived neglect. She accused Modi of betraying the state by reducing the Polavaram Project's dam height and by not preventing the privatization of the Vizag Steel Plant, leading to job losses.

Sharmila further criticized TDP's Chandrababu Naidu and Janasena's Pawan Kalyan for supporting Modi. She also accused YSRCP's Jagan Mohan Reddy of making provocative statements while benefiting from Modi's backing. Her comments stirred immediate reactions among political circles, sparking debate on the region's development priorities.
