Speculation has been rife regarding whether Tharoor, who has previously led delegations to the US among other countries, would be selected as a speaker by Congress, given his enthusiastic approval of the government's actions following a terror attack which has reportedly deteriorated his relations with the party.

As Parliament's Monsoon session faces disruptions, a heated debate is anticipated on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, with both ruling and opposition parties expected to take a strong stand on these national security issues.
