Controversy Erupts Over Delhi's 'Phansi Ghar' Claims
A heated debate erupted in the Delhi Assembly over the authenticity of a so-called British-era 'phansi ghar.' Disputing its historical significance, BJP members claimed it was merely a 'tiffin room,' despite renovations by the previous AAP government. The conflict led to the removal of AAP MLAs from the Assembly.

The Delhi Assembly witnessed a fierce clash as Leader of Opposition Atishi and AAP MLAs were expelled following a dispute with BJP members regarding the authenticity of a historic site identified as a 'phansi ghar' on the premises.
Speaker Vijender Gupta clarified that the edifice, renovated and unveiled in 2022 by then Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was originally a 'tiffin room' and not an execution room from the British era.
Minister Kapil Mishra accused the AAP government of distorting history by changing the room's narrative, which was vehemently defended by AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha. The debate escalated until the speaker's intervention led to the removal of the AAP members from the Assembly grounds.
