A seven-member probe team from the Jharkhand BJP has raised concerns over a possible 'major conspiracy' surrounding the police encounter death of Surya Narayan Hansda. Hansda, a controversial figure in regional politics, was wanted in several criminal cases.
Led by former chief minister Arjun Munda, the BJP team visited Hansda's family in Godda district, urging a transparent inquiry overseen by a retired Jharkhand High Court judge. Munda alleges that Hansda faced numerous fake charges and was acquitted in 14 cases, questioning the legitimacy of the encounter.
Hansda was detained without an arrest warrant and died during a police operation. His family suspects foul play, noting his history as a community leader providing free education and lodging. The Jharkhand CID is now investigating the controversy amid public unrest.
