In a bold move to challenge alleged electoral malfeasance, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi kicked off the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' from Sasaram. Gandhi accused the Election Commission of complicity with the BJP in manipulating the upcoming Bihar polls through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
The initiative sees Gandhi traveling across Bihar alongside Mahagathbandhan allies, including RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, to reinforce the opposition's unity. Gandhi asserted that elections were being 'stolen' nationwide, and promised to thwart any such attempts in Bihar to disenfranchise voters.
With the rally concluding in Patna, the yatra aims to spotlight voter suppression concerns, with public addresses emphasizing the need to protect electoral rights. Allies, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Lalu Prasad, echoed Gandhi's sentiments, accusing the BJP-led government of eroding democratic values.
