The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) stands strongly in favor of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, contingent on its fairness. On Tuesday, BJD leader Amar Patnaik clarified his party's stance, emphasizing that any disenfranchisement of rightful voters would face strong opposition.
Patnaik's comments come as members of the INDIA bloc voice concerns over the SIR process in Bihar. Reassuring the public, Patnaik underscored that the BJD would cooperate with a fair revision but remain vigilant against any potential injustices.
Critiquing the Election Commission's approach, Patnaik argued that political parties should not bear the burden of proof, which rests with the Commission. He asserted BJD's independent advocacy without alliance reliance, particularly in Odisha.
