An FIR has been filed against a man named Umesh Yadav for allegedly making derogatory remarks on social media about MLA Pooja Pal. These remarks appeared on platforms including Facebook and X, officials stated. The case was registered at the Sairpur Police Station under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.
The action came after a complaint from a member of the panchayat in Lucknow's Bakshi Ka Talab area. It marks the second FIR against Yadav in this matter after an earlier case was lodged on August 17 in the Kaushambi district for similar offending posts about Pal. The earlier complaint was filed by Santosh Kumar Pal of the Chail Assembly Constituency.
This incident comes amid political turbulence following Pooja Pal's recent expulsion from the Samajwadi Party after she praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his actions against Atiq Ahmed, a gangster-politician linked to her husband Raju Pal's murder in 2005. Tensions remain high as investigations continue.
