In a significant political development ahead of Bihar's assembly elections, CPI(ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya has unequivocally supported Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav as the chief ministerial candidate for the opposition Mahagathbandhan alliance. Bhattacharya dismissed any speculation of internal discord, affirming that Tejashwi remains the unchallenged choice.

Bhattacharya stated in Patna that an official announcement is imminent, highlighting widespread public awareness that Tejashwi will assume the Chief Minister's role should the INDIA alliance secure a majority. He expressed confidence that Tejashwi Yadav's name will be confirmed in an upcoming joint press briefing.

Countering the NDA's claims that Nitish Kumar will continue as Bihar's Chief Minister, Bhattacharya argued against such a scenario, asserting that the Mahagathbandhan's seat-sharing arrangement will be disclosed soon after being finalized. The 2025 elections will pit the NDA against the Mahagathbandhan in a contest for the 243-member assembly.
