Jose Charles Martin, previously associated with the BJP, is poised to launch a new political party in December, with aspirations for the Chief Minister's post in Puducherry. A source close to Martin revealed these plans, highlighting his ambition to influence the region's political landscape.
Martin, who oversees a significant lottery business, aims to galvanize local support. Alongside potential alliances with actor-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Martin seeks to fortify his political foothold, having distanced himself from the BJP after unsuccessful election attempts.
Criticized by some as a BJP proxy, Martin has been actively building his public image through welfare activities. Scheduled for a December 14 launch, his party could shift the balance in a volatile political arena, as Martin eyes future alliances and envisions a prosperous Puducherry.
