Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ethiopia on Tuesday, marking his first visit to the African nation as part of a four-day tour spanning three countries. His agenda includes addressing the Joint Session of Parliament, where he will emphasize India's role as the 'Mother of Democracy' and highlight the partnership potential between India and Ethiopia in benefiting the Global South.
In addition to his parliamentary address, Modi will engage in comprehensive discussions with Ethiopia's Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali. The Ministry of External Affairs commented that the visit underscores both nations' dedication to nurturing a friendly and cooperative bilateral relationship within the framework of the Global South.
During the two-day stop in Ethiopia, Modi will also connect with members of the Indian diaspora. This visit follows his trip from Jordan, with Oman slated as the final stop of his three-nation itinerary.
