Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has launched a vehement attack on the BJP-led central government, accusing it of using financial discrimination as a tool to economically stifle the state. Arguing that the Centre's actions are a calculated move to strip Kerala of its constitutionally guaranteed rights, Vijayan led a mass protest demanding fair treatment.
During the day-long Satyagraha demonstration, Vijayan criticized the arbitrary cuts in grants and borrowing limits, asserting that the state is forced into an 'extraordinary struggle' to protect its rights. He urged unity among citizens to secure Kerala's rightful share of funds and criticized the excessive centralization of power.
The Chief Minister detailed how recent fund cuts have impaired Kerala's ability to meet financial commitments, highlighting instances of alleged political bias by the Centre against opposition-ruled states. He underscored Kerala's financial prudence and pledged continued protests, including legal action, to uphold federalism and democracy.
