The Delhi Assembly has directed Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Atishi to submit a written statement by January 19 regarding her alleged derogatory remarks about Sikh Gurus during the winter session.
This development has led to a significant political controversy involving tensions between the BJP-led Delhi government and AAP-ruled Punjab. The issue arose from a session discussing pollution, during which Atishi allegedly made the controversial remarks.
Further complicating matters, a forensic examination of a video clip posted on social media by Delhi cabinet minister Kapil Mishra and BJP MLAs has been ordered. The clip allegedly shows Atishi making disrespectful comments about Sikh Gurus, an accusation she has yet to address publicly.
