In a significant political shift, former CPI(M) MLA S Rajendran officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, aligning himself with the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The induction event, held at the BJP state headquarters, was overseen by state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
Rajendran, who represented the Devikulam Assembly constituency from 2006 to 2021, expressed his disillusionment with his former party and pointed to unresolved issues faced by plantation workers as a key factor in his decision. He believes that these could be effectively addressed under BJP governance.
