In a heated debate in the Rajya Sabha, opposition leaders accused the government of fostering communal divisions and economic inequality, urging it to reevaluate the 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' slogan. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh labeled the administration as anti-poor and anti-farmer, while Trinamool Congress MP Sagarika Ghose alleged government denial of current realities.
Opposition MPs also criticized the erosion of parliamentary norms, with DMK's Tiruchi Siva highlighting the sidestepping of procedural democracy and targeting of opposition voices. Rahim Gandhi's comments on Chinese incursions in Lok Sabha were invoked as they sought Prime Minister Modi's response to the territorial claims.
Sagarika Ghose and Singh further alleged mismanagement and fraudulent practices in government schemes, questioning the Modi government's commitment to inclusive growth. Accusations of communal bias and economic apartheid were directed at BJP leaders, and the rewriting of textbooks for ideological purposes was flagged as detrimental to future generations.
